Imphal, October 08 2011:
Flatly rejecting the encounter theory, the proscribed UNLF has contended that MPA's Lt Yengkhom Ingobi alias Suresh alias Satyaban s/o Y Sarat Kumar of Mayang Imphal Kokchai was shot dead by troops of 18 Sikh Regiment at Kangmong Maisnam Sabal Leikai after apprehending him from a house of Nambol in the intervening night of October 6 and 7 .
A press release issued by the outfit's senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba accused the security forces of killing revolutionaries and civilians in fake encounters after taking the victims into the custody.
This was contradictory to preaching of the alien rule's top brass who claimed that the Manipur-India conflict can be resolved only by political means, not with military means.
Such contradictory activities have testified the double standard of the security forces, it asserted.
Late Lt Ingobi joined the party in 1995 and worked in different units of the MPA.
Lt Ingobi was a dedicated and dutiful revolutionary.
He was deputed to organisation department of the party in 2007 before he was posted as Thoubal district secretary in 2010 .
Ingobi is survived by his wife and a four months old son.
It remarked that the supreme sacrifices made by revolutionaries like Ingobi would continue to be a source of inspiration for many years to come.
Condoling the death of Lt Ingobi, the UNLF also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family.
