Imphal, October 08 2011:
On its 34th raising day, the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has greeted all the people, media persons as well as all the revolutionary groups which have been fighting against the common enemy.
In a statement issued by the outfit's Chairman N Nongdrenkhomba, the outfit remarked that the successful setting up of the Co-ordination Committee (CorCom) of seven revolutionary groups of the land was a great step forward in the revolutionary movement.
This would pave the way for a collective struggle of all the revolutionary groups of both the hills and valley, in addition to the seven groups which constituted the CorCom.
Exuding confidence that the revolutionary movement would soon witness a victorious phase, Nongdrenkhomba appealed to the public to support the Co-ordination Committee.
The Co-ordination Committee was a fruition of the relentless efforts put in by the constituent groups including PREPAK and its armed wing, the Red Army, said the Chairman.
In addition to forging unity, it is crucial to sacrifice and rectify one's mistakes in order to consolidate the hard earned unity, Nongdrenkhomba stated drawing attention of all revolutionary groups of both the hills and valley.
In the past, when Manipur was independent, Manipuris were known for their ideal social manners and values.
All those lofty values have disappeared in this age of globalisation.
Kangleipak of today is known for its fine arts (dance and music) and their excellence in sports.
"It's time to march on to new phase and show before the world that we are not habituated to live under rule.
We need to develop our human resources and groom our work culture to a competitive level", the Chairman stated.
In the past, the hills and valley were bound together by a strong socio-economic bond.
The hills and valley exchanged their produces and lived together in harmony, and this testified their inter-dependence.
However, in the contemporary period, both the hill people and valley have become dependent on imported goods, and apparently they are no longer inter-dependent on each other.
Subsequently, the bond between the hills and valley have been becoming weaker and weaker and they tend to have closer relations with mainland India.
All these are results of Kangleipak being an occupied territory of India, Nongdrenkhomba stated.
Alleging that the puppet politicians are one of the many enemies of the mass, the outfit accused these politicians of usurping all the national resources and wealth.
These politicians have neither capability nor intention to chalk out any long term development policy for the nation.
Their only agenda is personal aggrandisement and clinging to power.
Collaborating with New Delhi, these politicians have been unleashing all kinds of repressive measures in addition to spitting venom among different communities with a sinister design to keep them divided and create intra-conflicts among the mass.
This class of people are the most deadly enemies of the mass, Nongdrenkhomba asserted.
Categorically stating that PREPAK never supports any form terrorism, the Chairman called upon the mass to remain vigilant against those elements who have been scheming to project the party in the wrong light.
The Chairman further also underscored the need for all revolutionary groups to pay more attention to the relationship between revolutionary movements and masses.
