LCP for protection of historical sites

League of Callow Patriots (LCP), Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal has appealed to the state government to safeguard historical religious sites, especially in the hill areas, by declaring them as protected sites.
In a statement, LCP lamented that some vested interest groups have renamed Thangjing, which is an ancient religious site of the indigenous people of the state, into Thangting and are claiming ownership over the religious sites and reserved forest areas including Thangjing and Koubru.
LCP drew attention of the government so as to declare the religious sites of indigenous people as protected area, provide constitutional safeguard to Meeteis, conduct NRC exercise and set up population commission.
LCP also hailed BJYM president Barish for his courage while adding that the organisation had felicitated him by awarding 'Manipur Mapari Athoiba' title.
