ALSM 2022: Thamla FC crowned football champions

The 56th All Lamkang Sports Meet 2022 organised by Lamkang Students' Union at Angkhel Chayang village playground, Chandel, concluded on Monday.
Thamla FC (Thamlapokpi) emerged champions of the football competition while Laiktla village won both men's and women's volleyball titles.
In the 23-team men's football tournament's final, Thamla FC beat AYC Angkhel Chayang by a 2-1 margin to become the champions.
Thamla FC's goals were scored by Paulin Tholung (4') and Darpol Sankhil (36') while AYC Angkhel Chayang's lone goal was scored by D Renghon (35') .
The final match was officiated by head referee Joysing Monsang with VA Lawrence and L Thangnahring assisting him along the touchlines.
In volleyball, Laiktla village's men's team defeated Angkhel Chayang while Laiktla's women's team beat Thamlapokpi village in their respective final matches.
The closing ceremony of the Sports Meet was attended by Works minister Govindas Konthoujam as chief guest and Textiles, Commerce & Industries minister Nemcha Kipgen as functional president, while Heirok MLA Dr Thokchom Radheshyam, Chandel MLA & sports meet's patron SS Olish and ADC Chandel chairman D Ringo Lamkang were guests of honour.
Football winners Thamla FC received a cash prize of Rs 40,000 and runners-up Angkhel Chayang were given Rs 30,000 while Laiktle village's men's and women teams got Rs 30,000 each for winning the volley titles as men's runners-up Angkhel Chayang and women's runners-up Thamlapokpi received Rs 20,000 each.
