Medical camp conducted, street lights distributed

In continuation of its efforts to improve mutual trust and maintain peace and harmony in the region while simultaneously addressing the medical requirements in the underdeveloped border villages, Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a medical camp at Behiang village in Churachandpur district on Friday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), a total of 33 villagers including 4 children were examined by the medical staff of the Assam Rifles.
Essential medicines were also distributed to all the affected people to ensure a healthy society.
The villagers were also briefed about the ill effects of drugs and importance of hygiene and sanitation in daily routine to avoid unwarranted diseases.
Special focus was given on educating the villagers on contagious diseases during approaching winter season and ways to prevent them.
Meanwhile, Shangshak Battalion Assam Rifles on Friday distributed street lights to Lamlang Gate village under Ukhrul district.
According to a release by PRO IGAR (S), the troops handed over the street lamps to assist the villagers in maintaining visibility on the streets at night, which will then enhance the security in the village.
This noble gesture of the security forces to assist the village in keeping the streets lighted and maintaining security was appreciated by Tangkhul fraternity especially the villagers, said the release.
