AR pays homage to Col Viplav, others

Imphal, November 13 2022:
Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles on Sunday paid homage to its brave-hearts, including Col Viplav Tripathi, who in the richest traditions of the Armed Forces, made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty for the motherland in a border area of Churachandpur district.
Always choosing the integrity & security of the Nation before self, Col Viplav Tripathi along with riflemen Suman, Shyamal Das, NK Konyak and RP Meena of 46 Assam Rifles laid down their lives during an ambush on November 13, 2021, PRO IGAR (S) recounted in a release, adding that in the unfortunate incident, wife and kid of Col Viplav Tripathi also lost their lives.
The Battalion paid homage by remembering the fallen soldiers, reaching out to their family members and paying their respect.
As part of Battalion's commitment towards wellbeing and growth of Veer Naris and dependents of the brave sons of Motherland, the Battalion felicitated the Veer Naris and paid their homage at the Memorials constructed in the paternal villages of the brave-hearts.
Modi Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) also conducted wreath laying ceremony on Sunday to mark the '5th anniversary of the Chandel IED attack' on 18 Assam Rifles occurred on this day in 2017, at COB Chandel.
The solemn ceremony was conducted to remember the fallen heroes and pay due homage to the two brave-hearts of 18 Assam Rifles who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
During the event, the soldiers of Modi Battalion were also briefed about the incident.
