IPSA takes 'Khongul Liba' prog to Cachar

In continuation of its 'Kanglei Puwari Khongul Liba' programme, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) paid a visit to Cachar on Sunday.
One Yumnam Mani, president of Sepoy Mutiny Memorial Protection Committee, had contacted IPSA, informing that a team led by Sana Chahi Ahum took a last stand against the British soldiers on January 12, 1858 at Binnakandi Part-II Wangkhem Leikai, Lakhimpur, wherein many died.
He then appealed to IPSA to assist in the ongoing construction of a me morial complex in Wangkhem Leikai Part-II.
Accordingly, the IPSA team of 'Kanglei Puwari Khongul Liba' programme visited Cachar and they were felicitated by Joy-pur Kamranga GP president Lourembam Chandrakala Leima; Lamyanba Ningsing Lup Kamranga, Cachar president and GP secretary Moirangthem Gouramani and officials around 11 am.
Afterwards, a joint team of the GP and Lamyanba Ningsing Lup took the IPSA team to a site used by Lamyangba Irabot to hide at one time.
The site happened to be the house of his (Irabot) closed acquaintance Jibon Bannerjee.
Moirangthem Gouramani conveyed that both his father Moirangthem Rajmohon and Jibon Bannerjee worked closely with Lamyanba Hijam Irabot.
Later, Lamyanba Ningsing Lup Kamranga, and IPSA jointly organised a 'Kanglei Puwari Khongul Liba' event at Kamranga.
The event was attended by Lup president Moirangthem Gouramani as president and IPSA president Tourangbam Birjit as chief guest; while IPSA advisor Luwangcha Chingkhei, Joypur Kamranga GP president Lourembam Chandrakala Leima, Sepoy Mutiny president Y Mani, and VPs K Bishojit and Y Nodiachand were present as guests of honour.
During the event, the life history of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot and the forefathers of King Churachand were discussed.
