All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC HQ) and Anti Social Prevention Organization (ASPO) Mairenkhun have strongly condemned the thrashing of a street vendor, Apabi while in custody of City Police and called for suspension along with appropriate punishment for the police personnel involved.
Addressing a press conference today at the office of AMMDC HQ in Ushoipokpi, Pusham Sayeed Ahamed, president AMMDC recalled the unfortunate series of incidents which led to the detention and alleged thrassing of Apabi by City Police.
He informed that Apabi (47), who hails from Lilong Mairelkhul is a street vendor who sells bananas in a small alley at Ema Keithel.
He also raised questions over the failure of the Government to take action against all involved in the tragic incident.
Pusham Sayeed Ahamed further cautioned that if the Government failed to book the culprits within 24 hours, the committee in collaboration with local clubs, CSOs and Meira Paibis would launch democratic form of agitation.
