Imphal, February 23 2023: Solomon Jamir, a wanted person for alleged involvement in the 2021 November 13 Sialsih Village ambush that killed 5 persons including personnel of the Assam Rifles, CO Colonel Viplav Tripathi, his wife and son has been arrested.

Solomon @ Momo, 36, is son of (L) Bendang Tushi of Chingmeirong Kabui Khul.

He was arrested by a combined team of Special Commando Unit Khabeisoi and personnel of 4th Assam Rifles yesterday from Yaingangpokpi Tata Magic Parking areas and handed over to NIA Imphal Branch.

He was produced before the Court by a team of NIA Imphal Branch along with a prayer for 10 days police custody remand.

Notably, the NIA had re-registered a case of the Singngat police station for investigation into the ambush that killed five and injured 6 personnel of the 46 Assam Rifles near Sialsih village.

Proscribed outfit PLA and Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) had claimed responsibility for the ambush.

Meanwhile, the Court has remanded the accused to 10 days NIA police March 4 .
