Four NSCN-IM cadres arrested

Imphal, February 23 2023:
A team of Special Commando Unit, Khabeisoi arrested four NSCN-IM cadres from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Khuman Lampak in Imphal West district on Thursday.
The four NSCN-IM cadres have been identified as Pfoziio Kayina alias Thohri Kayina (35), son of (late) Eheni Kayina of Tadubi, Senapati district; Setoi Yeptha (32) son of Zhevukhu Yeptha of Zunheboto district, Nagaland; Arippo Zelang (30), son of (late) Motrong of Machecum, Dimapur, Nagaland; and Khareiting Mung (39), son of Phungpha of Ajungtag, Ukhrul district.
According to police report, based on a specific input received from 16 Assam Rifles regarding presence of four cadres of NSCN-IM in the general area of ISBT, a team of Special Commando Unit led by its OC subedar L Bebekananda rushed to the said area and conducted frisking and checking operation.
During the operation, the four accused, who came on foot, were detained for verification.
They disclosed themselves as NSCN-IM cadres with Pfoziio Kayina admitting to have joined the outfit in 2010 and completed basic military training at General Training held HQ, Kaphire district, Nagaland under Army No 42382 and is now a self-styled lieutenant working under the command of one Temjen, Brigadier of NSCN-IM.
Khareiting Mung joined in the year 2002 through one self-styled major Unaopem Tangkhul and got basic military training at Hebron under Army No 0P2431145 and is now a self-styled lieutenant working under the command of one colonel Ayo of NSCN-IM; Setoi Yeptha joined in 2009 and got basic military training at Hebron Training Centre, Dimapur under Army No.80829 and is a self-styled second lieutenant now; while Arippo joined in the year 2021 through one Sumoil Zelang and got basic military training at Hebron Training Centre, Dimapur under Army No 44061 and is now a self-styled corporal of NSCN-IM.
Subsequently, all four of them were arrested at 10:30 am on Thursday and three mobile phones were seized from them.
The arrested cadres were subsequently handed over to Imphal police station for further legal action.
