One held with 56 kg WY tablets

Imphal, February 23 2023:
A combined team of 5 Assam Rifles and Moreh police station arrested one Lenzo Lenchinjang Zou alias Philips (29), son of Longlenhao Zou of Moreh Ward No 2, Tengnoupal district, presently living in Phaicham Veng, Ward No 3, Moreh with approximately 56.255 kg of WY tablets worth Rs 25.31 crore in international market from his rented accommodation.
According to a police report, the com bined team led by Moreh Town company commander and assisted by ASI Em Mujibur Rahaman of Moreh police station including women police personnel were on a routine patrol in and around Moreh Town, when around 9:15 pm Wednesday on reaching Phaicham Veng they came across the accused moving in suspicious manner and entering a house.
The team followed him and questioned him but he tried to escape through the back door of the house.
Immediately, the team chased and apprehended him.
On search of the house which he had rented and was staying with his wife, the team recovered 82 packets of suspected WY tablets weighing approximately 56.255 kg estimated to worth Rs 25.31 crore and the same were seized.
The recovered items along with the accused have been handed over to Moreh police station for further investigation.
