118th Anniversary of Rotary International celebrated

Imphal, February 23 2023:
Rotary Club of Imphal (RID-3240) celebrated the 118th Rotary Anniversary of Rotary International today at RCC village Takhel of Imphal East District.
As a part of the programme, a 5-day 'Vocational Training Programme' (UP Skilling Training) for 30 educated girls and housewives began today which was organised in association with JCRE Skill Solutions, Manipur for empowering the women, said a press release by the Rotary Club of Imphal.
This skill training programme will promote self employment in the food processing sector by imparting NSQF based UP Skilling training.
The training programme will comprise of two-day theoretical sessions with 3-day hands-on practical sessions by S Soshmita Devi as the resource person.

Pramod Jaiswal, President of the club while speaking at the occasion said that the first Rotary club was founded at Chicago, USA by Paul Harris, Gustavus Loehr, Silvester Schiele, and Hiram Shorey on Feb 23,1905 .
He further said that, 'It is also observed as the World Rotary Day, a day where, we, as Rotarians, feel proud and celebrate the achievements and successes of all the Rotarians across the world for doing good things for the community' .
Today's programme was organised as a part of its golden jubilee year celebration.
