TSE report spurs PHE Minister

Based on a report in this daily regarding Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) besieged with supply inadequacy of water treatment chemicals, the PHED authorities have been asked to furnish relevant statement even as the Minister concerned affirmed stringent action against the chemical supplier(s) if the report is found to be true.
Speaking to newspersons at his office chamber today, PHE Minister I Hemochandra affirmed that based on relevant report necessary process, including blacklisting of suppliers, would be initiated against all those found guilty.
Informing that official concerned of PHED has been asked to submit a written explanation on the matter within October 4, the Minister confided that an office memorandum has been issued on October 1 by the Link Principal Secretary in this connection.
It is also informed that taking serious note of The Sangai Express report under the headline 'Inadequate supply dogs PHED', the Minister had minute discussion with top officials of the department.
