The silver jubilee celebration of Hunphun Shanao Long (Ukhrul Women's League) was celebrated with gaiety and fanfare at Mini Secretariat Auditorium Hall, Ukhrul.
Former leaders of the Hunphun Shanao Long were remembered on the occasion.
Dressed in colourful traditional attires, large number of women turned up for the event.
The celebration programme was marked by presentation of songs 'laa khanganui', traditional fashion show, vocal piece and Tangkhul folk song.
Tharawon Raleng the pioneer and the first President of HSL was the chief guest and hoisted the Jubilee flag.
Other special guests were Pakahao Muivah w/o NSCN (IM) secretary, Th Muivah; President TSL; Headmen; HEC chairman; Pastors, national workers and other prominent leaders of the district.
31 women of the Hunphun/Ukhrul village were felicitated in recognition of their outstanding achievements in different field like education, public administration, politics, sport and music.

The speaker of the Jubilee Jayanti Keishing dwelt on the gender pious of Hunphun village, where women were kept as the in-charge of household chore.
Pakahao Muivah aka Ava kharar said that Hunphun/Ukhrul is the birthplace of Tangkhul education and led in many fronts.
Even in Nagaland people have high regards for Hunphun/Ukhrul as some of the senior intellectuals got their education from here.
She also raised alarm over the presence of Satanic worshippers which is already sweeping Nagaland.
Women should not be traitor or betrayal but should come together and fight the social evils like corruption, intoxicants and human trafficking.
Hunphun women pledged to uphold their stated goal of bringing positive changes, working for unity and to ensure justice to all marginalised women.
A jubilee monument was unveiled by Rose Zingkhai, a Naga nationalist at Awontang, Ukhrul.
The president HSL Agnes Shaiza extended gratitude on behalf of HSL to all people for their cooperation in making the Silver Jubilee celebration a grand success.
