Imphal, October 02 2013:
SDO of Paomata David Kashung, MCS, has called upon the people, especially in the hill districts of Manipur, to preserve their historical artefacts and relics, so that the future generations to come do not face any identity crisis.
Speaking as Chief Guest of a day-long archival awareness programme cum record exhibition organised by Manipur State Archive in association with Khumai Youth and Students' Organisation at Khumai Tunggam Paomata Centre today, David Kashung noted that in the past, people in the hills do not maintain written historical records but it is becoming very essential today.
He said that history is not just the written records, the artefacts, relics and tools left by our forefathers are also historical materials.
All these should be preserved for the future generations to come so that they do not face any identity crisis.
Presided over by Chairman of Khuman (Tunggam) Union H Hari, the programme was also attended by Deputy Director of Manipur State Archive Dr K Sushila as Guest of Honour.
