Senapati, October 02 2013:
Aggrieved land owners of TNK Village, Senapati have locked the office of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Senapati for the second time today.
An ultimatum served by the land owners to the authority concerned for the implementation of the agreement that was reached between the Govt and the land owners expired on Sept 30 .
The impasse has been going on for almost 15 years.
The Institute was locked once during 1998-2010 as the MoU signed between the State Government represented by the Director of SCERT and the Land owners that agreed to appoint 6 posts of Grade IV to land donors.
Only two posts were filled by appointing the land donors.
Later in 2011, the Institute reopened after fresh agreement to appoint 3 LDC post.
A land donors desperately recalled that the file process was forwarded and received by the Cabinet Section on Aug 31 , 2012, with serial No.654, which was duly signed by the Principal Secretary Suresh Babu on August 27, 2012 .
He said all efforts for the materialisation of the MoU points went in vain after a series of meeting with the Education Minister, Commissioner and Additional Secretary of SCERT.
Since the Government has not responded positively to their grievances, the land donors have decided to close down the Institute for the second time.
They further warned that if the State Government fails to react positively to the agitation even after 15 days time, then the land donors will not entertain any process of negotiation.
