Tamenglong, October 02 2013:
The Zeliangrong frontal organisations on Wednesday announced 24 hours total bandh in Tamenglong District against total blackout for a month in the district.
The bandh will start from midnight of October 3 and end on October 4 midnight.
The electric current which went off since 24 September 2013 has not resumed till today.
The furious Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) with Zeliangrong Youth Front, Tamenglong Zone and Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) on Tuesday served an ultimatum to Chief Minister of Manipur through the Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong.
The ultimatum stated that the government of Manipur and the concerned power Minister/department have not given any response or indicate any sort to redress the issue, even after locking all the power department offices in Tamenglong.
Further, the ultimatum informed that more stern agitation will be taken up in the form of imposing bandh on national highways, NF- Railway construction activities and other deemed activities of the state in which the government shall be held responsible for all untoward incidents if transpired.
It is also stated that the ideology and demand for Alternative Arrangement or severing ties with the state will be taken up as follow-up action.
Adding that in realisation, this district has been 'marginalised' socially, politically and at administration for long time.
The ultimatum also strongly condemned the motive of the state government to export power to Myanmar when the power situation in the state is still pathetic wanting.
The ultimatum was signed by Marcus Kamson Vice President of Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) Kagangai Gangmei, Chairman of Zeliangrong Youth Front, Tamenglong Zone and Wiramang Newmei, Vice Chairman of Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) .
