Capacity building prog organised

Imphal, August 12 2022:
Under the sponsorship of National Commission for Women, Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) organised a one-day capacity building programme for women traders of Japhou Bazar at Ng Mono Monsang Memorial Hall, Japhou in Chandel district headquarters on Friday.
The programme was attended by MSCW chairperson Salam Ulka Devi, members Th Tiningpham Monsang, Lourembam Dayabati Devi and T Chuongsin Koireng, Chandel additional DC Md Firoj Khan and ADC Chandel CEO Seiminthang Lenthang as presidium members.
During the technical session, SBI Chandel branch manager Chongtham Chhatrajit Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes Yumnam Indrakumar Singh and SEMT head Henry Potsangbam spoke on the topics related to banking, e-commerce, GST laws and tax compliances as resource persons.
Later, an interaction cum discussion session was also organised.
Speaking on the occasion, Md Firoj Khan and Seiminthang Lenthang appreciated MSCW for organising such an important event to enhance the capacity building of women vendors of Japhou Bazar in particular.
Meanwhile, chairperson and members of MSCW emphasised on financial independence as one of the most important aspects of women empowerment.
Economic and financial empowerment will make women socially and politically strong, they mentioned.
In all, 100 women traders, vendors belonging to different communities and ages attended the programme.
