Rally, plantation drive, sports activities mark HGT events

Students, teachers and staff of Praja Higher Secondary School, Lamsang took out a rally around the school campus as part of Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign on Friday.
Personnel of Lamsang police station also joined the rally participated by around 700 students, teachers and staff of the school.
After the rally, principal M Debendro hoisted the tricolour at the school.
Meanwhile, Somsai Battalion of IGAR (S) felicitated the 1st batch of matric passed students from various schools of Ukhrul district on Friday along with organising an awareness programme on the national flag code "Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and distributed 200 flags to the students.
They were also motivated to join the Armed forces.
Tengnoupal Battalion organised a plantation drive at Khudenthabi village in Tengnoupal district on Friday to commemorate 75 Years of Independence and planted 200 saplings of various species near their village close to the NH-102.The saplings were provided by Sub-Division Forest Office, Moreh.
To promote Har Ghar Ti-ranga, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) organised an Independence Day talk at Hand of God Residential Higher Secondary School, Gwaltabi and Leishemba Maheikol School, Chingarel Tejpur on Friday to encourage students to become part of the Campaign.
To mark the 75th Independence Day celebration, Modi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a friendly football match at D Zalengbung village in Chandel district on Thursday after which national flags and sports kit were distributed.
A drawihg and painting competition with the theme "Har Ghar Tiranga" was also organised at D Zalenbung village and gifts presented to the participants.
Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (S) also organised a friendly football match between Assam Rifles and Sita Youth Club at Sita village on Friday to commemorate 75 Years of Independence.
Sita Youth Club won the match 3-2.The Battalion also organised a friendly volleyball match at Sita village on Thursday followed by distribution of sports equipment and National Flags to all the village heads.
Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a mini marathon as part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to commemorate at Keithelmanbi in Imphal West district on Friday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the mini marathon saw enthusiastic participation of 80 locals and over 120 all ranks of the Battalion at Keithelmanbi Garrison.
A short briefing was also carried out to create awareness about Indian National Flag rousing Patriotism amongst one and all.
Meanwhile, Maram Battalion of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) celebrated Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav with students and teachers of Asufii Christian Institute, Mao in Senapati district on Friday.
National flag was also hoisted as the part of the event.
Over 650 students were present to salute the national flag followed by the national anthem, words of motivation and wisdom by the officer of 33 Assam Rifles, drill procedures by the qualified drill instructor, and distribution of flags to the school students.
