HGT will strengthen Nation: Biren

Chief Minister N Biren has stated that the Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign which is being celebrated across the country as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in commemoration of the completion of 75 years of independence would go a long way in building a strong India.
A mega marathon organised by BJP Manipur Pradesh as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was flagged by the Chief Minister from Maibam Lotpa Ching, Nambol today.
Speaking at the flagging off ceremony, N Biren claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully given a new impetus towards building a strong, united India.
In pursuit of his dream of building a strong, united India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched several welfare schemes to eradicate poverty, help homeless and needy people and alleviate economic condition of all economically weaker sections to a uniform level, Biren said.
Since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister eight years back, India has evolved into one of the most powerful countries in the world, he claimed.
Biren said, "Manipur being a part of India, every Manipuri is proud to take part in commemorating the completion of 75 years of India's independence".
BJP and the State Government would hoist the National flag at every house across the State from August 13 to August 15 under the Har Ghar Tiranga, announced Biren and added that the campaign would help in building a strong, united India.
Saying that BJP and the State Government would pay fitting tributes to all the patriots who laid down their lives in their efforts to protect the sovereignty of Manipur, Biren appealed to all the people of the State to contribute towards building a united India.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sarda welcomed all the athletes who took part in the mega marathon.
The marathon race which culminated at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex was won by H Ngaopulou of Senapati.
Y Arjit of Waiton and Nahtee N Wangna from Nagaland won the second and third positions respectively.
H Bhumeshwori of SAI-NCOE Takyel won the first position in women's category.
A Sai Chanu of Mayang Imphal and Lily Phangchopi from Assam finished second and third respectively.
