Kpi DFO warns

The DFO, Kangpokpi Forest Division has warned all encroachers who have been occupying several portions of Kanglatongbi Kangpokpi Reserved Forest (Koubru) illegally.
As a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga celebration, the Indian National flag was hoisted on Mt Koubru yesterday.
The Kangpokpi DC, and the DFO Kangpokpi Forest Division led teams of Kangpokpi district administration, Forest staff, police, NYK and Veterinary Department.
The Forest team led by the DFO, apart from trekking td Mt Koubru, patrolled and monitored the plantations at Koubru Peak, conveyed a press release issued by Kangpokpi Forest Division, Range Forest Officer Neitinkim.
The Forest team observed that there were many trespassers without valid permits inside Kanglatongbi Kangpokpi Reserved Forest (KKRF) .
As such, DFO Kangpokpi N Ganesh has ordered that whomsoever trespasses into the reserved forest should have valid permit from the office of the Range Forest Officer concerned and enter their names at Mangjol Forest checkpost.
The DFO also expressed strong disapproval of illegal land use inside KKRF in the form of jhuming, cultivation, breaking of land etc.
It was observed that many cultivators are from villages which are located way beneath the reserved forest boundary and they do not enjoy any rights under the 1968 notification.
The DFO has warned all such illegal encroachers (cultivators) and instructed them to desist from cultivation inside the reserved forest else action would be initiated and cases would be filed against such defaulters under Section 26 of the Indian Forest Act, 1927 .
