2 more die, 18 new cases detected

Imphal, August 12 2022:
Two more people succumbed to Covid-19 while 18 new cases were confirmed in the state, out of 696 samples tested on Friday as the test positivity rate dropped from Thursday's 3.5 per cent to 2.6 per cent.
The two deceased people were from Thoubal and Kangpokpi districts.
Both had co-morbidities and were unvaccinated.
Out of 18 new cases (12 males and 6 females), three positive cases each are from Ukhrul and Chandel, two each from Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Churachandpur and one each from Imphal West, Kakching, Senapati and Tengnoupal districts.
Meanwhile, 18 patients recovered on Friday with 17 were discharged from home isolation and one from JNIMS.
The recovery rate is 98.30 per cent.
In all, 27 beds out of 38 Covid beds in JNIMS are vacant while RIMS has 50 beds vacant out of 62.So far, the state has recorded 2232 positive cases and 23 fatalities since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 406 new positive cases and 14 deaths.
A total of 83 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 8 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities on Friday, while 2,302 vaccine doses were administered, thus, taking cumulative number of vaccinated population to 31,41,302 out of which, 16,22,979 have been inoculated with first dose 12,93,607 with second dose and 2,24,716 with precautionary doses.
