5 held with heroin, WY tablets

Imphal, August 12 2022:
As part of the War on Drugs 2.0 campaign, a team of NAB police station arrested a man with heroin from Hatta Golapati Maning Leikai at around 1.10 pm on Friday.
The arrested man has been identified as Mohammad Han-if Ahmad (24) s/o Harich Ali of Moreh Ward no 5 Muslim Nagar Labuk Leikai, but presently residing near Hatta Golapati Maning Leikai community hall.
According to a police report, the team was conducting a frisking and checking operation when Hanif was arrested.
Around 44 soap cases containing 550 gm of heroin were seized from his possession.
Meanwhile, another police report informed that a team of Kakching District Police apprehended two people with 9.824 kg of WY tablets during a frisking and checking operation carried out ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
The arrested people have been identified as Seikholun Vaiphei (34) s/o Thangpao Vaiphei of Zion Veng Moreh Part-3 and TH Khalzakham Baite (30) s/o Paonam Baite of Guite Veng Moreh Ward no 9.As per the report, the team deployed for duty at Pallel Commando Check Point, Laimanai, stopped a numberless Maruti Gypsy for checking.
The team then found 9.824 kg of WY tablets and Rs 1.25 lakh in cash inside the vehicle.
Both the arrested people and the seized items have been handed over to Kakching PS for further course of legal action.
On the other hand, Kakching District Police arrested two men with 835gm of WY tablets at around 2.25 pm on Thursday, a police report conveyed.
The arrested people have been identified as Tongminthang Haokip (24) s/o Paomang Haokip of Khongkhang village and Letkhosei Khongsai (19) s/o Holkholun Khongsai of New Shijang Village, Chandel district.
The report stated that a team of District Police was carrying out a frisking and checking operation at Pallel Laimanai Chingjin, when a two-wheeler incoming from Moreh side was halted.
While checking the vehicle, a polythene bag with two packets inside containing WY tablets was found.
Both the arrested people and the drugs have been handed over to Kakching PS for initiating necessary legal action,
it added.
