AR donates ventilator, saves snake bitten woman

As part of the fight against Covid-19, Somsai Battalion of IGAR (S) donated one ventilator and other Covid mitigation equipment to the Civil Hospital Ukhrul on September 16, said a release issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
It informed that the ventilator was handed over to Chief Medical Officer Ukhrul to help the help authorities tackle the rising cases of Covid-19 .
Meanwhile, medical team of 44 Assam Rifles saved the life of a 65-year old woman from Chaljang Makui village under T Waichong sub division of Kangpokpi district who was bitten by snake.
According to PIB (DW), the lady was bitten by a snake on her feet as she returned home from her neighbourhood on Friday night.
The terrified family members contacted company commander of 44 Assam Rifles at Gelnel post following which medical staff of the post immediately rushed to the PHC and contacted the 44 AR CMO for medical assistance.
The unit CMO spoke to the patient and medical staff through video call, extended help to the medical staff by provision and administration of anti- snake venom.
The lady was stabilised and subsequently referred to district hospital for further medical care and observation, the release said adding that this is second such incident within a week, where timely medical assistance by 44 AR saved a precious human life.
