YA tablets weighing 17.668 Kg seized

Imphal, September 18 2021:
A team of Kakching district police under the overall supervision of SP Victoria Yengkhom on Friday seized contraband items at Pallet Leimang Chingjin Commando Check Post.
A release by PRO police informed that the drugs suspected to be WY tablets weighing about 17.668 Kg in total were found wrapped in 15 plastic packets and kept concealed in the rear seat of a Tata Xenon (MN06L/7348).It said that three individuals namely Mangvung Tongminthang (33) son of Chungkhjang Haokip, S Lhunkhohiou Haokip (26) son of Senchong Thongkhothang Haokip and David Thangminlun Haokip (24) son of M Thongsei Haokip, all residents of Tengnoupal village in Tengnoupal district were arrested initially.
During interrogation, Mangvung disclosed that the items were procured from Lenlen one Khongsai (33) of Khudengthabi village of the same district and they were to be handed over to one Md Wahid Khan (24), son of Md Soukat Ali of Sangaiyumpham Cherapur presently residing at Sora Chingwangma.
The said person was also arrested from Kakching Lamkhai from in front of Forest Office at 3:40 pm, added the release.
The plastic packets (wrapped with brown colour tape and covered with transparent plastic) were marked as YA 3030 Tablets and numbered 1,50,000 in total.
One Redme Mobile phone bearing was already seized.
The team seized the contrabands on receipt of information that some unknown persons are trafficking drugs in a Tata Xenon along the In-do-Myanmar Road, said the release.
