Imphal, September 18 2021:
While charging the chief minister of intentionally creating blunder by laying foundation stone for construction of a Bailey bridge project at Mantri Pantha over Chakpi River in Chandel District headquarters, Lambung village authority has said that laying the foundation stone at a far-off place by the CM could be considered as bluffing the people of Chandel.
In a release, Lambung village authority chief Daryal Alam Anal contended that the (CM) is distorting the history of Lambung to create tension in the region in the name of development.
Explaining the reason behind the allegation levelled against the CM, the village chief made it clear that Lambung Village has never given permission for permanent village settlement to Mantri Pantha.
Thus, not even an inch of land belongs to Mantri Pantha village.
But they have constructed houses and settled within the jurisdiction of Lambung village, he added.
Informing that a memorandum in this regard had been submitted to the Governor, the chief minister and the chief secretary on Friday for immediately rectifying the name Mantri Pantha or revoking the project of constructing Bailey bridge, he asserted that no man or agency can distort the history.
Whosoever tries to continue with the project, he or she will be booked as per the law, the village chief cautioned, while reminding the chief minister that He is the chief minister of all, not just of the BJP or Mantri Pantha village.
Urging the state government to act sincerely and ensure justice, Daryal Alam Anal asserted that Mantri Pantha has no land to donate for the said project.
