The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Chandel has lauded the state government for setting up a new, properly established hospital in Kana area, Sajik Tampak Primary Health Centre.
This progress will relieve the people from many difficulties including going to hospitals in case of emergency, said KSO.
In a release, KSO Chandel said that its team led by general secretary Mangvung Benjamin Haokip along with KSO Kana block visited the newly inaugurated Sajiktampak Primary Health Centre on Saturday and found the new set up satisfactory.
"Kana area being situated in a remote area and infected for long due to presence of insurgent groups, the KSO is extremely jubilant over the progress and on-going developmental projects," it mentioned.
The people in general and KSO in particular are thankful to Water Resources minister Letpao Haokip, DC Chandel, CMO Chandel District and managing director of New Life Trust for taking the initiatives and effort in the establishment of the hospital.
It's all because of them that the project fructifies to a fully functioning hospital, it maintained.
The KSO unit also conveyed its appreciation to medical officer in-charge of the PHC Dr Esther Thokchom and her staff for making an impressive progress in the past few years making the area self-reliant in the field of healthcare service.
"We also acknowledge their sacrifices and endless efforts in keeping the area safe especially during the covid 19 pandemic," it said.
The team also had interactions with the staff members on myriad issues including the matters of medical equipment and necessity items, it said and urged all concerned to further give importance to development of the PHC and ensure adequate provision of medical equipment in future.
