Chief Minister N Biren has said that his government will bring out whitepapers on all development projects taken up both in the hills and the valley since 2017 ahead of the 2022 state assembly elections.
He was speaking during a felicitation function hosted in honour of union minister Bhupendra Yadav, union minister of state Pratima Bhoumik and Assam's minister Ashok Shinghal at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek, here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Biren hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending Inner Line Permit System in the state and said that the Modi government has been focusing on the development of northeast region especially Manipur.
Considering the works done by BJP under the leadership of PM Modi, the party would not need aggressive campaign for the 2022 elections.
He further said that NDB has sanctioned Rs 3500 crore under Prime Minister's Har Ghar Jal scheme and 52 per cent of the total households in the state have been provided tap water connection so far.
Several national highway projects are being taken up and several new bridges have been constructed.
Moreover, several other projects are being taken up in both the hills and valley, he said while asserting that his government will bring out whitepaper on all development proj ects taken up across the state within one month.
Mention may be made that the two union minister along with a minister from Assam government arrived in Imphal to discuss election strategy for the party.
Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba and BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda also attended the felicitation function.
Earlier in the day, CM Biren launched 'Nav Bharat Mela', a two-day event organised by Bharatiya Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Manipur Pradesh as part of celebrating the 71st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at JN Manipur Dance Academy Hall.
Addressing the gathering, CM Biren said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the approval to extend ILP System in the state in order to protect the indigenous people of the state.
Besides, PM Modi is taking up various initiatives for the state including the National Sports University.
He could be called as a living legend of India if one considers his works, he said.
Stating that all the works of PM Modi carry a vision for a better future, Biren called upon the people of the state to take the opportunity for bringing peace and development in the state.
Union minister Bhupendra Yadav also attended the event and distributed PMJAY cards to some beneficiaries.
The CM and the union minister visited all the 30 stalls run mostly by Common Service Centres where enrolment services under different flagship schemes are provided.
BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda and BJP secretary (organisation) northeast in-charge Ajay Jamwal, works minister Th Biswajit and BJYM Manipur Pradesh president M Barish were also present at the two-day event, being organised with the stated ob jective to provide benefits of flagship programmes/schemes to the public.
On the other-hand, CM Biren said that the government is working for the welfare of the people with transparency, sincerity and honesty under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'.
Speaking as chief guest at the launch programme for distribution of benefits under Economic Development Programme (EDP) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) organised by Department of Minority Affairs, Department for Welfare of OBC and SC and Manipur Minority and OBC Economic Society (MOBEDS) at City Convention Centre here on Saturday, the chief minister highlighted that the state government has successfully implemented 'Go to Hills' and 'Go to Village' missions with an objective to bring governance at the people's doorsteps.
He claimed that there has been a lot of infrastructural development in the last four and half years with the support of the people and maintained that the government is trying its best to improve the rural economy of the state.
Apart from recounting launch of various projects and dwelling on stable law and or-dersituation in the state, he said Manipur StartUp.
Scheme was introduced to support entrepreneurs in the state and many of them have benefitted from it.
With regard to the distribution function, Biren informed that poultry chicks ((Rs 1.13 crore) would be provided to 1418 beneficiaries, knapsack sprayers to 2544 beneficiaries (Rs 1.25 crore), carpentry items to 135 beneficiaries (Rs 1.37 crore), fish fingerlings to 2803 beneficiaries (Rs 2.8 crore) and bicycles to 1277 minority girl students of Imphal East, Thoubal and Chandel at a cost of Rs 57 lakh.
He further mentioned that under PMJVK, a total of 264 projects amounting to Rs 321 crore have been completed and 318 projects amounting to Rs 704 crore have been taken up in the state.
The works include construction of model residential schools, Sadbhavna Mandaps, PHCs, etc, in both hill and valley districts, he added.
Works minister Th Biswajit, education minister S Rajen, advisor to CM (Health) Dr Sapam Ranjan, MLAs M Rameshwar Singh, Md Antas Khan, Manipur State Minorities Commission chairperson Anwar Hussain, secretary (MA&MOBC&SC) Ningthoujam Geoffrey and others were also present at the function.
