Govt, agitating MSSA likely to hold talks today

The cease work stir launched by Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) from September 5 continues but there is possibility of reaching an understanding when the association holds talk with the government on Thursday.
According to association president L Purujit, the cease work stir was launched on September 5 after an ultimatum served to the government regarding its demands lapsed.
While confiding that informal talks with GAD secretary has begun, he opined that even though the government is yet to invite the association for formal talk, an understanding could be reached on Thursday.
Purujit told media persons at new secretariat south block on Wednesday that the demands of the association include revocation of transfer order of GAD's secretariat assistant M Romen to Kolkata Manipur Bhavan, increase of grade pay scale of secretariat group-D employee by Rs 1,800, by Rs 4,600 for caretaker post, by Rs 4,600 for ASO/SO and by Rs 4,800 for PS.
The association also demanded increase of DA of state government's employees with effect from the year 2023 on par with central government's rate and issuance of a notice in this regard at the earliest and to stop re-engagement and engagement of retired employees.
