Imphal, November 09 2021:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary P Saratchandra presented a harmonium to Ngaseppam Jenny, a 16-year-old talented girl who lost her vision following a brain surgery and is currently living in a rented house in Laipham Khunou under Heingang assembly constituency.
Jenny is the eldest daughter of Ngaseppam Naobi and Abem.
In her childhood days, she was diagnosed with brain tumour and her parents sold their homestead land to conduct surgery.
Though the surgery was successful in removing the tumour, Jenny gradually lost her vision after the surgery.
She is now studying in class 3 at Takyel Blind School where she is also studying music (vocal) in third semester.
Jenny's mother works as a housekeeping staff in a private hospital.
As her parents could not afford to buy her a harmonium, Saratchandra, who is preparing to contest the 2022 state assembly election from Heingang AC on Congress ticket, presented the musical instrument as a gift of Ningol Chakkouba to Jenny on Sunday while blessing her to become a successful singer.
According to the family, they have not received any assistance or benefits under any government schemes till date.
