Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy : Manipur end campaign with 8 wicket loss to Mizoram

Manipur capped their plate group campaign at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 with an eight wicket loss to Mizoram today at Andhra Cricket Association Grounds, Mulapadu.
Having suffered three losses earlier in the campaign, Manipur batting line up continued to produce performance and stacked up a meagre total of 100 runs for 6 after winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Mizoram then took just 15 overs to secure the only win in the tournament and handed Manipur the fourth defeat.
Earlier in Manipur's innings, M Langlonyamba topscored with 31 runs off 33 balls and Johnson added 27 runs off 33 balls late on after top orders faltered cheaply.
Nitesh Sedai too contributed 20 runs in this innings which saw Mizoram bowlers Remruatdika Ralte and Bobby Zothansanga clinching two wickets apiece.
Mizoram batters Lalhmangaiha (16), skipper Uday Kaul (31), Taruwar Kohli (38 not out) and Iqbal Abdulla (16 not out) then took honours to help the team complete the chase losing two wickets, one each to Nitesh Sedai and Homendro Kabrambam.
Manipur registered the only win on November 5 beating Arunachal Pradesh by 6 wickets.
