The non-SoO Kuki militant outfit KNF-N on Tuesday clarified that Mangsat Haokip, the alleged self-styled vice chairman of KNF-N as branded by the state police has no relation with the outfit whatsoever.
The outfit's information and publicity secretary, Gou alias Kuki stated that the branding of Mangsat Haokip of N Boljang village, Kangpokpi district as self-styled vice chairman of KNF-Nby the state police in the local media has nothing to with it.
While terming the allegation of the police as baseless, and false, the outfit clarified that the outfit does not know who Mangsat Haokip is as there is no cadre and leader of KNF-N in the same name.
It also stated that the allegation was made to confuse the public and tarnish the image of the outfit while appealing to the general public not to be carried away by such misleading and false statements of the state police.
It further stated that the allegation was made by Imphal West Police, inspector P Achouba Meetei, who is the OC of Imphal West Commando, 15 Assam Rifles commander Amarjit Singh Lamabam, Imphal West Additional SP (Ops) and DSP CDO Imphal West Y Kishorchand under the supervision of SP Dr S Ibomcha Singh.
Meanwhile, civil society organisations (CSOs) of Kangpokpi district in a public notice reiterated their stand to go ahead with an intense form of agitations from November 11, if the trio 'wrongly' accused and arrested in connection with the B Gamnom killing, is not released within November 10 .
The CSOs cautioned that they will be compelled to launch any kind of agitations from November 11 in connection with the arrest of three 'innocent individuals' by a combined team of security forces on October 25 and reiterated that the trio is innocent and has no relation with KNF-N.Rather they are drug users, the CSOs said and reminded that the CSOs had served three days' ultimatum to the state government and the authorities concerned to release the three persons without any condition since they have no connection with the militant outfit and gruesome B Gamnom killing.
The CSOs noted that it will go ahead with 24 hours total shutdown in Kangpokpi district if the trio is not released and will be followed by several intense forms of agitations.
It then appealed to the public to cooperate with the CSOs Kangpokpi in its movement to deliver justice to the three persons arrested by police.
