CM, others condole demise of Ima Mangi

Chief minister N Biren, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba and several civil bodies have conveyed deepest condolences over the sudden demise of Khwairamband Nupi Keithel Sinpham Amadi Shaktam Kanba Lup vice president Khwairakpam Mangi, who breathed her last on Monday at her Kakwa Naorem Leikai residence.
The daily activities of Khwairamband Keithel were halted for the day and thie lifeless body brought to Inia Keithel for the women vendors to pay their last respect to the departed soul on Tuesday morning During the condolence ceremony, chief minister N Biren, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba and others paid floral tributes.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Biren praised 'Ima' Mangi as a leader who took part in several issues of Manipur so as to lead it to the right path.
She also took major role in ensuring closure of Ima Keithel during Covid-19 first wave with the firm belief that saving people's lives is the first and foremost duty of all, he recounted.
Biren prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and also shared pain and grief of bereaved family.
Women vendors of Khwairamband Ima Keithel, women leaders and volunteers of Kanglei Economic Development Organization (KEDO) took part in the condolence ceremony.
Paying respect to the departed leader, candles were lighted in and around Khwairamband Ima Keithel in the evening.
Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipak (CLK), People Action for National Democratic Movement (PNDAM) and Workers' Union Manipur (WUM) also mourned the untimely demise of Ima Mangi, who was originally from Moirang Tongbram but had settled in Singjamei Kakwa Naorem Leikai.
She was 70.In separate releases, the organisations prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace in its heavenly abode and further shared the pain and grief of the bereaved family.
The demise of Ima Mangi is a huge loss for Manipur, they lamented.
