Installation service of MACA held

Chandel, September 10 2022: Installation service of the new executives of Maha Area Chief Association (MACA), which is a body of 42 village chiefs in Chandel district, was held at MACA conference hall located at Panchai village on Saturday.

The installation service was moderated by New Khongyon village secretary Ch Gilbert Moyon, while MACA chief election commissioner Khular Lovejoy and Rev Sr Onesima were present as administrator and blessing minister respectively.

The new executives of MACA for the term 2022-2025 include Js Angam Anal as chairman, Ch Michael Moyon as Vice chairman, Ts Calep aS general secretary, SS Issac Lamkang as joint secretary, Ts Jonash Monshang as finance secretary and Ps Yumas as information cum games & sports secretary.

Speaking at the function, Js Angam informed that MACA has been formed by seven different: tribes With an objective to join hands with district administration in taking up developmental works since formation of Chandel district an 1979 .

As Chandel is an underdeveloped district, he urged the village chiefs and district administration to extend cooperation and join hands in filling up the inadequacies of the district.

Regarding 'War on drugs' campaign, he pointed out that no poppy plantation has been found till now in Maha area.

He then appealed to the people to make the district a peaceful and developed one.

A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed leaders of MACA.
