CM flags off highway improvement work

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has stated that the pace of development in Manipur has gained momentum under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also stated that the State Government has been taking up different development works for the wellbeing of 'our future generations' .
The Chief Minister was addressing a flag-off programme for improvement of Imphal-Kohima Package-IV(B) and Imphal-Kohima Package-V(A) Road of National Highway-02 held at Kalapahar, Kangpokpi district today.
Continuing his speech, N Biren Singh appreciated the MLAs of Kangpokpi district and civil society organisations for their cooperation and efforts in solving the issues of land compensation along the said highway.

Expressing his desire for the people to obey the rule of law, the Chief Minister claimed that there is mutual respect among the people of different communities in the State.
He further claimed that the Government doesn't impose any law which is unconstitutional.
Appealing to the public to extend support to the developmental works being taken up by the Government, the Chief Minister assured that people who are affected by the road improvement work would be compensated appropriately.
Textiles, Commerce and Industries Minister Nemcha Kipgen stated that the condition of the road would be improved once the project is completed and appreciated the Chief Minister for his initiative.
Mentioning that National Highway-02 is the lifeline for development of the State, she urged the NHIDCL to carry out the improvement work properly without any compromise on quality.
Chairman, Planning and Development Authority Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei, MLA of Saitu AC Haokholet Kipgen, Executive Director, RO-Imphal, NHIDCL DS Chaudhary, Kangpokpi Deputy Commissioner Kengoo Zuringla and other officials also attended the flag off programme.
Later, the Chief Minister formally opened the Thadou Heritage Museum at Thadou Inpi-General Headquarters Complex, Kangpokpi district.
