India Kayaking & Canoeing Association (IKCA) vice president Waikhom Jyotin has announced that a 44-member team will represent the state in the Kayaking & Canoeing competition of the 36th National Games to be held at Gujarat from September 27 to October 10 .

Expressing confidence that the state's paddlers will win medals at the Games, Jyotin also appealed to the state government and Manipur Olympic Association (MOA) to reimburse the players of All Manipur Canoeing and Kayaking Association (AMCKA) which has not been done for nine years now.
Jyotin further pointed out that government has released Rs 2 crore to MOA for training camp of players, but it is yet to reach some Kayaking & Canoeing players.
Hence, authority concerned must ensure that these funds reach them as the preparatory camp has started and the Games will begin soon.
He has already written to MOA for release of fund for the players and officials on September 6.Thus, there should not be much delay in the release of funds just because there is some dispute within AMCKA, he stressed.
