Imphal, September 10 2022:
Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation (DMRAO) hardly broke a sweat against Anouba Imagi Mangai (AIM) as Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KIYC) struggled past NISA on Saturday.
DMRAO started the day with a 4-0 thrashing of AIM as Oinam Malemnganba Meitei netted twice in his side's rout of their opponents in a Group B match at Artificial Turf Ground, lamlong Thongkhong.
DMRAO started strong ly and scored two of their goals inside 19 minutes in quick succession, thanks to Malemnganba who put the side ahead after 16 minutes before he swung into action in matter of three minutes to double their lead.
AIM were guilty of lacking creativity at the other end and poor defending that was fully capitalised by DMRAO.
After the break, things got from bad to worse as AIM were at a loss every time DMRAO launched an attack.
DMRAO put themselves firmly in control when Manuhormayum Kabiraj Sharma buried the ball in the back of the net in the 69th minute.
Then Ngathem Imarson Meitei put the game beyond doubt after converting in the 73rd minute as DMRAO collected all three points with relative ease.
KIYC, meanwhile, were made to work hard by NISA for their 1-0 victory in another Group B meeting.
After a barren see-saw contest in the first period, the game finally burst into life in the 85th minute when M Lunminlen Haokip sent in a sublime shot past the NISA goalkeeper.
KIYC then held on to settle the issue.
