7th KIMACS felicitation ceremony organised

Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) organised the 7th KIMACS felicitation ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) today.
During today's programme, eight students who were subject toppers and secured positions in Thang-Ta subject in the recently held Class 10 and 12 examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) respectively along with a student who was the subject topper in Dance in BOSEM exams were felicitated and presented mementos, certificates and cash award.
14 persons including two officials who represented Manipur in Khelo India Youth Games 2022 in Thang-Ta category were also honoured with simple gifts on the occasion.

Speaking at the occasion, COHSEM Chairman, Dr Ch Sarat Singh maintained that the demand to make Thang-Ta as a compulsory subject in school curriculum is a rational one while stressing on the need to promote this unique and indigenous martial art form of the State.
He also highlighted the importance of principles of Thang-Ta which helps in leading a disciplined life apart from staying fit and healthy.
KIMACS general secretary, Th Suraj sought the help of the Government to include Thang-Ta as a compulsory subject inorder to inculcate discipline among the upcoming students and to strive for a progressive and healthy society.
He also stressed on the need of appointing Thang-Ta teachers in Government schools for the upliftment of this unique martial art form across the State.
KIMACS president Ningthoujam Ajitkumar; BOSEM Chairman, Akham Joykumar Singh and Office Coordinator , Directorate of Ayush, S Tondang also graced the event as presidium members.
