Biren highlights BJP's agenda, vision

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has categorically stated that the BJP was formed in the interest of the people and the country at large.
The Chief Minister made the remark at the felicitation ceremony of five MLAs who switched allegiance from JD (U) to BJP recently and Ward Members of IMC held at Thambal Shanglen at Keishampat today.
Saying that he was impressed by the ideologies of Pandit Deendayal Upa-dhyaya and Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee who worked to uplift the downtrodden and poor people and build a united India, N Biren continued that the agenda of the saffron party is to realise the dream of the two leaders.
It is because of this vision many people continue to support the BJP, he said and welcomed the new members into the party.
Further stating that India has overtaken the United Kingdom to become the world's fifth-largest econo-my under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister maintained that the State Government would also give its best to take the State to greater heights.
The Chief Minister also said that the Manipur Government has been taking up several developmental projects.
A sanction has been received to build a well equipped community mall at Lamphel while the construction of Tombisana Keithel is nearing completion, he said and maintained that one water body would also be developed at Lamphelpat.
There is an initiative to build concrete pavement on all roads within Imphal city, N Biren said and maintained that 90 per cent of the water supply projects taken up under Har Ghar Jal and other schemes are completed.
Maintaining that the Government has been reaching out to the people since 2017 through various schemes such as Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), N Biren said that the Chief Minister Health for All Scheme has covered about 2.50 lakh people from 650 villages.
"We should not do politics on drug related matters but work together to end drug menace and save the younger generation," N Biren said and appealed to the people to extend support to build a vibrant Manipur.
BJP State unit president A Sarda Devi said that the joining of five JD (U) MLAs and some Ward Members to the saffron party will make the BJP stronger.
She said that the BJP, since it came to power in 2017, has been taking up several innovative and humanity based programmes at an unprecedented rate.
Even the Prime Minister recognised the Go to Hills, Go to Villages and Meeyamgee Numit initiated by the State Government, Sarda said and sought support from the five former JD (U) MLAs and Ward Members who have put their faith in the commitment and philosophy of BJP to take the State forward.
Later, N Biren and Sarda Devi presented a BJP scarf and a cap each to MLAs Kh Joykisan, Thangjam Arunkumar, Achab Uddin, LM Khaute, Ngursanglur Sanate and to all the Ward Members who joined the saffron party.
On behalf of the five MLAs, Kh Joykisan said that he made a mistake by leaving BJP in 2016 .
Saying that they didn't put any preconditions before joining the BJP, Joykisan added that they would extend unconditional support as a member of BJP to all development works.
