Capacity building training programme kicks off

A four day capacity building training programme kicked off today at the New Hotel Anand Continental, Khuyathong road.
The training programme is organised by Assam Down Town Charity Trust, a KRC level 3 under the National Jal Jeevan Mission (NJJM), said a statement by the Trust.
The inaugural function was graced by Secretary PHED, Government of Manipur, Kheda Varta; Government officials of Manipur associated with the NJJM namely Sangreiphao Vashum, Chief Engineer PHED; Livingstone, Executive Engineer, Thoubal district; Kh Leena Devi, Director of Communication and Capacity Development Unit, PHED and Rajkumar Somio, Nodal Officer of Jal Jeevan Mission, PHED as the presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Kheda Varta maintained that the training programme will definitely spread awareness among the public on purification, preservation and proper utilization of potable water which is really important in rural as well as urban areas of Manipur.
The other presidium members also shared their valuable comments and observations in connection to the training as well as the National Jal Jeevan Mission.
The programme will train 60 participants mainly members of Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC), Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Gram Panchayat of Thoubal district.
Members of Implementation Support Agency (ISA) operative in Thoubal district were also present on the occasion.
