Cataract surgery camp held in Tamenglong

Imphal, October 29 2021:
A three-day eye cataract surgery camp concluded on Friday at Tamenglong district hospital.
The camp was organised by 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) in collaboration with National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), District Health Society, Tamenglong under Dr Gracy Majachunglu.
The eye care and surgery camp was led by experienced opthalmologist team under NPCB SPO Dr Vikram Singh Khoisnam.
A total of 230 patients were examined and 39 surgeries including 31 Cataract, six Pterygium and two Chalazion surgeries were conducted on Thursday.
On Friday, the team led by Tamenglong CMO Dr Gracy Majachunglu alongwith Dr Vikram Singh Khoisnam, Dr Anthony Kamson, Dr N Linthoigambi and Dr N Reagan carried out post operation care inspection of the patients.
The 44 AR doctors and other para medical staff under CMO & SMO also provided necessary medicines, assistance, care and medical supervision to the patients in collaboration with the supporting staff from district hospital, Tamenglong.
The battalion also conducted generic medical tests of the attendees free of cost.
A Covid awareness stall with/various posters, banners and cut outs too were put on display.
All necessary Covid protocols were observed while conducting the free screening and eye surgery camp.
