SUR observes 'Sirti Thamna Enii 2021'

Imphal, October 29 2021:
Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union) on Friday observed 'Sirti Thamna Enii 2021 (Monsang Day of Prayer)' at Liwachangning community hall.
In a release, Sirti Upa Ruh (SUR) general secretary Sh Micky stated that this historic day is observed every year by Monsang Naga people under the aegis of SUR to give thanks to God and seek God's blessings for the well-being of entire Monsang people.
In his presidential Speech, SUR president Ng Gilbert highlighted the importance of observing Monsang Day of Prayer every year.
He also commended Monsang leaders and elders who led the Monsang people socially, politically and religiously this far.
The release mentioned that SUR advisor Ng Benithan also spoke about how the thoughts and idea for observing 'Sirti Thamna Enil' was initiated.
This historic day is observed to commemorate the Monsang Tribe recognition day granted on October 29, 1956, he said.
SUR conveyed that during the programme, MNBCA former executive secretary reverend K Kumar shared God's words from the Bible and also led the blessing prayers for the prosperity of Monsang community.
The programme was moderated by SUR education & statistics secretary Ts Achand, and it began with prayer by Liwachangning Baptist Church pastor Ts Morison.
All the Monsang leaders - SUR, SER, SSR, STS, MOA, MLLAS, SOA, former ADC Member, Chandel Sh Manglem Monsang and all Monsang village chiefs, church pastors, general public attended the programme, it further Said.
