Haochong, Pungmon villages declare support to Huri Golmei

Noney, November 27 2021: 'The Joint Majority Declaration Programme' of Haochong Sub-Division and Pungmon village for Huri Golmei, executive member of BJP Manipur Pradesh & intending BJP candidate from Tamenglong Assembly Constituency in the forthcoming state election, was held on Saturday at Haochong village, Noney district.

The programme was organr ised by Booth Level Committee of Haochong and Pungmon village.

The written solemn declaration notes of Haochong and Pungmon villages were read out by the village leaders and handed over to Huri Golmei.

A blessing prayer led by Bungthoi Inka, Pastor, Haochong Baptist Church, was also held for the success of Huri Golmei.

Many senior BJP leaders including former Manipur Pradesh president M Bhorot, Tamenglong district in-charge Th Yumjao Singh, M Deven (in-charge political feedback BJP, H Nando (senior BJP worker) and Mahila/Yuva Morcha leaders took part in the programme.

The progress reports were also presented by seven ADC segments, namely Akhui, Khongjaron, Tharon, Tamenglong, Haochong, Awangkhul and Dailong.

Speaking at the event, M Bhorot iterated that the present state government led by N Biren is focussing on the hilly region of Manipur, therefore, many developmental works, including better road connectivity, have been taken up in Haochong area.

As a dynamic chief minister, N Biren has done commendable works in the hill districts of Manipur by implementing innovative policies like Go to Hill village, Go to Hill, CMHT and widow and disability schemes.

He went on to say that "we should not elect those self-styled politicians who think only for themselves and instead we should elect a dynamic representative who loves his people like Huri Golmei, who is very humble and sincere".

He also cautioned the voters to stay away from vested interest people who are indulging in character assassination by spreading false and cheap propaganda against others.

Speaking at the event, Huri Golmei expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Haochong area for their warm reception and declaration in favour of him for the forthcoming election.

He assured the gathering that he will work for the social upliftment of the people and bring in development oriented programmes.

Huri further promised that if he got elected in the coming election he would do the needful to upgrade Haochong High School to Higher Secondary level and even to the college level.

The candidate aspirant also told the gathering that he would propose to the government to introduce terrace cultivation scheme as an alternative for shifting cultivation in the hilly region.

Among his other priorities included women empowerment, widow/orphanages and to bring changes among minority communities like Inpui Tribe.

Bags and utensils were also distributed to the villagers.
