Imphal, September 02 2026: Khwairamband Keithel vendors, who were on a stir demanding NRC before census, have decided to resume normal business from tomorrow.

Announcing the decision to resume normal business, Khwairamband Keithel Sinpham Amadi Shaktam Kanba Lup secretary Thingujam Rani said the day and night stir at the Keithel was launched endorsing the public demand for NRC before census.

The decision to withdraw the stir was taken following an appeal from the JFD which is spearheading the NRC movement, she said.

Notably, the Keithel vendors had taken a decision to continue the NRC stir yesterday.

The stir was launched on August 31 .

The JFD had made the appeal to suspend the stir considering the importance and vital nature of the Keithel in maintaining the people's economy and livelihoods, she added.

The Keithel will open normally from September 3, she said.
