Imphal, November 27 2021:
The 16th foundation day of Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) was celebrated at Maharaja Chandrakirti auditorium hall, Palace Compound on Saturday.
The programme was attended by national and international awardee H Ibotombi Khuman as chief guest and KSA president Sukham Bidyanan-da as functional president, while former KSA presidents Thongam Ajitkanta, Yumnam Pradipkumar, Moirangthem Laxman and Ningthoujam Chetan were present as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, KSA president S Bidy-ananda conceded that the students' body has been able to function for 16 years due to support of the people.
While pledging to continue working for the welfare of the students in future as well, he informed that KSA is ready to start a campaign to unite the students.
Instead of working with sectarian mind-set and agenda, it is high time to strive for achieving the common goal of development and harmony as one Kangleipak, the KSA president exhorted.
In his address, H Ibotombi Khuman observed that Covid-19 has greatly affected the student community.
Even though normal classes for students above 9th standard have begun, they are not on par with the earlier normal times.
Teachers in private schools have been hugely impacted with all of them provided reduced salary.
School van drivers have also been at the receiving end of the lockdown caused by the pandemic.
All these need to be discussed at the highest level, he stressed.
