Govt urged to revoke transfer of PHC MO

Social and Economic Development Organisation (SEDO), Hiyanglam and Citizens' Association for Rural Development (CARD), Wabagai have urged the chief minister and the Health Department to cancel the transfer order of Primary Health Centre (PHC), Hiyanglam medical officer (MO) Dr E Kiran immediately.
In a joint release, SEDO Hiyanglam and CARD Wabagai praised Dr E Kiran for his sincerity and dedication towards his duty, especially during the height of Covid-19 pandemic in Hiyanglam-Wabagai area.
He had been instrumental in resumption of 24/7 service at PHC Hiyanglam as MO in-charge, but just after 15 days of starting the service he was transferred from the PHC.
The sudden transfer of the doctor has created unrest amongst the people of the area, which may lead to an intense agitation, it maintained.
The bodies reiterated that the authorities concerned should revoke the transfer order of Dr E Kiran considering the sentiments of the public.
