Skill training programme on "Yarn dyeing" begins

Yairipok Development Agency under the sponsorship of Yairipok Universal College today launched a 10-days skill training programme on "Yarn dyeing" at Yairipok Universal College.
Speaking on the occasion, Gokul Chandra Luwang, secretary and MD of Yairipok Universal College stated that such skill development programmes would promote entrepreneurship and bring financial independence for women.
He also appreciated the special focus given to the use of vegetable dyes in the programme while adding that it was more sustainable & environment friendly.

Sonika Lourembam, Program Director of Yairipok Development Agency also asserted, "Women in Yairipok and neighbouring areas engage in weaving and related activities as their key professions and so yarn dyeing/ rani phi dyeing resonates well with them" .
It may be mentioned that Oinam Brojendro Singh, a seasoned trainer who has won accolades for his work on dyeing and printing among others will take part in the 10-days event as a trainer.
