District level meeting held on Project FAB

A district Level meeting with stakeholders was held on Thursday at Jamning Valley Resort on Project "Friends Across Barriers", initiated by MANEDA, Senapati.
It was attended by Senapati SP, Kartik Malladi, IPS; John Sha, MFS, DFO; W Hemendra Singh, DSWO; Lavei James, EO Agriculture Department; student leaders including SDSA team, CWC members, religious leaders, village leaders from Zingsho, Kathikho Karong, Mao Karong, Taphou Kuki, Hengbung, Namgailong, Katomai Centre, M/Ningthoupham and Mayangkhang Khunou.
Speaking on the occasion, Peter Rangnamai, Director MANEDA highlighted why MANEDA-FAB called for a stakeholders meeting and urged the public to support the project.
Elaborating the objectives of the project, Meveine Kazia Sousho, Project Coordinator stated that the project FAB (Friends Across Barriers) is a project funded by Terre Des Hommes Germany.
The project reportedly works with 16 villages in Senapati and Kangpokpi areas and works with 13 schools in the area.
Several training for the communities and youth were also highlighted during the meeting.
The project has introduced TLMs Teaching Learning Materials- playful participatory learning in the schools and is reportedly working to set up libraries in all the villages.
During the discussion hour, stakeholders also gave numerous suggestions including the establishment of hobby clubs, cultural exchange programmes, exchange cleanliness drive, students exchange programme, movie club, cultural exposure, substance abuse awareness, a career guidance cell, library project, etc.
