The IO of the case Rattana Ngasepam, Additional SP (IUCAW) Imphal West, submitted through an APP that Mark Haokip is the president of 'GPDRK as per the complaint submitted by SI L Sanjeeva Singh of Imphal police station on May 30 last and he (the accused) planned to wage war against India along with three other persons namely, KS Kipgen - secretary (administration), Lunkhohao Haokip (secretary, political affairs) and CSK Mate (press secretary) of the organisation.
Claiming that the four persons including Mark Haokip were spreading propaganda on social media to create animosity among the people so as to achieve the goal of GPDRK, the IO said that they also created a website 'www.kukigovt.com' to propagate their ideas and hatch conspiracy against the Government.
The IO also submitted that the accused is not co-operating in the investiga- tion and the five days police custody remand granted by the CJM were not sufficient to investigate the case which involves cross border conspiracy.
The progress of investigation is also hampered by the direction of CJM Imphal West which directed the authority to not conduct the interrogation in JIC, Kangla, she said and alleged that the work of establishing the details of bank transactions used in terror funding is not completed.
The defence counsel, on the other hand, claimed that the Imphal Police Station didn't investigate the three FIRs lodged against Mark Haokip in 2021 while the fourth one is fabricated.
The Court remanded the accused to police custody for six more days after hearing both the parties.
