Thoubal, June 04 2022:
Several women protestors stormed the court of District & Session Judge, Thoubal demanding justice to Abdullah as some of the accused in the murder case who had surrendered to the police were being produced in the Court on Saturday.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the protest, JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Md Abdullah convener Md Ayub Kori informed that the JAC had scaled down its protest after chief minister N Biren assured the JAC and CSOs of delivering justice and that the perpetrators will be arrested and punished as per law.
But in contrast to the CM's assurance, it seems that SP Thoubal is disregarding the public demand.
Till date, no accused has been arrested by the police as those who are in custody had surrendered themselves.
The police inaction will only invite protests from the JAC and the public, he said, while appealing to the CM and authority concerned to arrest the culprits and punish them at the earliest.
Meanwhile, SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam, speaking to TPC, reiterated that Thoubal District Police is dedicatedly searching for the rest of accused in the murder of Abdullah.
He then urged the public to extend support to the police in apprehending the absconders.
